Change Your Life With Us!

You are welcome to join us on the journey to health and fitness!
We were once in good shape but, like so many of us, got to a point where we were so busy and had so much preoccupation that, before we knew it we had let ourselves go. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we let ourselves go, I’m saying WE LET OURSELVES GO!
A few years ago when our daughter Sarah, began seriously pursuing a lifestyle based around health and fitness, in the course of supporting her in her goals, we became painfully aware of just how bad our lifestyle had gotten.
Over the past few years we’ve learned some valuable lessons about where we went wrong and how to get our lives back on track from a health and fitness point of view. The biggest lessons we’ve learned is that 1) it’s not easy but far from impossible; 2) if you’re committed to your health, anyone can get their lives on track; 3) there’s no such thing as a “magic pill”; 4) and lastly, there’s no mystery or hidden deep dark secrets to being healthy.
We’re still a work in progress and this site, in part, is for us to share our journey with you. We hope we can provide some inspiration as well as be inspired by your journey as well as a fellow traveler on the Road to Fitness and Health.
Weight Loss for Longevity and Energy
Anyone can lose weight if they want to do so, all they have to do very simply is to eat less (calories that they take into their body) and increase their level of physical activity (calories that are expended through physical activity). When it comes down to it, quick weight loss is really quite simply just a formula of calories taken in for the day, minus calories used that day. If you take in fewer calories than you expend in a given day, you will most likely lose weight that day. However, merely losing weight, doesn’t guarantee that you are losing weight in a healthy, sustainable manner that is going to result in increase longevity and energy.
If you want to lose weight and at the same time increase your longevity and energy, you need to make sure that you:
- Eat a healthy diet, comprised of whole foods (stay away from grains and dairy). Remember that 80% of your body composition is determined by what you eat.
- Start slowly on your new road to health and fitness! Begin by simply taking out all processed foods for a week. Stick to whole foods (essentially - only shop on the perimeter of the grocery store). Once it becomes easier to maintain your lifestyle without all those harmful processed meals and snacks, you can begin to take out more elements like bread and dairy to speed up your fat loss. You don’t have to give up these foods forever, just during the time that you are actively working to achieve fat loss.
- Slowly begin to add fitness to your everyday activities. You don’t have to pay for an expensive gym membership, there are many free resources at your fingertips and one that we highly recommend for women is the free WomensFitWay.com fitness program. At Women’s Fit Way, the daily workouts are free, quick to complete, proven to be effective even beyond the “novice effect,” and they are constantly changing (not just in types of exercise, but also in format – you are not always just banging out reps as fast as possible for 12 mintues traight until you poke an eye out)! Read more about the free daily workouts from WomensFitWay.com at http://womensfitway.com/programming.htm.
- Do not over eat; only eat until you are satisfied.
- Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. No one has ever lost all of their belly fat over night, no matter how little they ate throughout the day. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet that I designed to help you lose weight slowly and consistently (while keeping it off for good).

The 10 Things That Will Happen When You Begin CrossFit
Joshua M. Brown, Author, Backstage Wall Street writes, "What led to me beginning CrossFit was a realization that, if left to my own devices, I would never push myself hard enough to truly make the changes I needed to in order to get in shape. Occasional jogs and going through the chest-and-biceps motions of a traditional gym simply weren't going to get it done. I also knew that there was no shot that I'd be able to stick to a diet if it didn't coincide with something more offensive, like physical training of some sort that demanded I take in more nutrients and less garbage." He further writes that for "...those who are thinking about trying CrossFit and rewriting their own futures, below are the first ten things that will happen:"
You will find out how truly out of shape you are.
You will realize how fat you and other regular people are compared to real athletes.
You will begin learning the lingo and using it without feeling like a dork.
Your friends and family will start Googling the term CrossFit and giving you the warnings.
You will get insanely good at counting.
You'll begin to respect endurance and stamina.
You will gain weight at first.
You'll notice an uptick in energy, even when you're dead sore from CrossFititing.
You will learn about your mental weakness.
You will learn alot about your mental toughness.
